Montauk's Famous Lazybones has been a family owned and operated business since Captain Mike Vegessi purchased the vessel back in 1985. Captain Mike Vegessi and his wife, Kathy, have been at the helm of this successful party boat ever since! 

 

Captain Mike has been fishing in Montauk waters since 1977. When he bought the original 50-foot wooden party boat in 1985, he renamed her, changed the fishing schedule and focused more on making the Lazybones a family boat. He decided to eliminate the full day trips and targeted the local waters for species that the whole family could enjoy! 

 

Together with his wife Kathy, they shared their passion for fishing with their two daughters, Serena and Rebecca, and created one of the most successful family party boats in Montauk!
